From the moment they come to this world, our little ones start observing everything around them and learning all about it. As they grow, they slowly start noticing new things, asking questions, wanting to discover everything that surrounds them. Toys play and extremely important role in this process, and even though to some it seems like buying them will only spoil kids, we cannot deny the fact that many have educational purpose.
Simplicity is the Best Policy
In the past, people used to get wooden toys, and make some on their own, simply because other ones were quite expensive and could not afford them. However, today, things have changed, and this option became much more popular, not just because it is cheaper, but because it proved to be better for the kids.
Not only are they really easy to make, but they also last much longer than the ones you buy at the store. They can be passed on from generation to generation, and they are always much more cherished and appreciated than the manufactured ones. As it is extremely fun to make them, you can do it together with your kids, and one day when they are older, they will pick them up, with a smile on their face, and remember the wonderful time they had both when making, and later playing with them. This little workshop wakes up creativity and imagination in your children, and develops some motor skills. Probably the most important thing is that you are together, bonding while they are still young, so it will be much easier to cope with them when they get older, and become rebellious teenagers.
Sell and Swap
It is really hard to keep in pace with your child, as they are growing up so fast. One moment they are crawling around in their onsies, pushing little trucks and cars around the carpet, the next one they are running around in little Nike sneakers chasing the ball. They outgrow their clothes extremely quickly, and numerous kids toys become leas and less interesting with time. That is why it is hard for busy parents to regularly visit stores and get their children precisely what they need at that moment. The good thing is that the internet allows us to use sites where you can sell your old stuff, and easily browse through things other people have posted, and buy something else, more appropriate for the age they are at now at a reasonable price. So many parents have been satisfied sellers and buyers, as you can choose what you want together with your kid anytime, without even having to leave the house.
Pricier is not Always Better
Toys that you see in a store do look attractive, but you need to know that even if they cost a little bit more, that does not mean that they are of a better quality than the ones you made yourself. It happens quite often that there are parts not attached or glued well, so they tend to fall off, and sometimes kids even get hurt. This is especially dangerous for the youngest ones, that tend to put the little pieces in their mouth in that not so cute “everything is food” phase. And not only can the toys be poisonous for children, they are also bad for the environment, so green, wooden ones, prove to be better choice for so many reasons.
But the most important thing is that you are there with them every step of the way, no matter which toy they choose for playing at that moment. They all grow up so fast, go their own way, and one day, besides the old photographs, you will have wonderful memories of the time you have spend together.
